Firm Market Again Under Buying Pressure
The share market was again under buying pressure yesterday, and on New Zealand stock exchanges rises outnumbered falls about three to one, although the overseas list was easier. Turnovers were heavy, and the range of trading was very wide.
Movements were generally narrow. The biggest rise was Cropper-N.R.M., which closed 10c higher at 235 c. The largest changes were the 45c fall of 8.H.P., to 1790 c, the 30c fall of Bank of N.S.W., to 605 c. Among the rises were
C.F.M., 1c to 116 c; F.T.C., 2c to 102 c: 1.C.1.N.Z., 2c to 157 c; J. Wattie, 2c to 184 c; Kaiapoi. Petone, 1c to 33c; N.Z Breweries, 1c to 133 c; N.Z Forest Products, 1c to 241 c; N.Z. Insurance, 3c to 270 c; N.Z. Refrigerating, 1c to 92c; South British Insurance, 2c to
' 380 c: Woolworths (N.Z.), 1c to 113 c; and Wright, Stephenson, 2c to 115 c.
