Gas Conversions By Overseas Consortium

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 27. An overseas consortium with links in Britain and the United States will be responsible for the conversion of the 100,000 appliances in the nine North Island centres to receive Kapuni natural gas next year.

This was announced today by the Secretary of the Gas Association (Mr M. Kennedy) who said that the natural gas negotiating committee met representatives of the Common-wealth-Coward-Shriver consortium in Wellington yesterday and agreed on a final contract.
