TRACTOR DEATH
Accident On Hill A tractor driver was killed yesterday near Motunau when his tractor overturned and the harrows it was pulling went over his head. He was Arthur Andrew Hislop, aged 23, married, of 314 Gloucester Street, Christchurch.
Mr Hislop, employed by an Amberley contractor, was working on a Lands and Survey Department station, Coringa. Constable H. Hollander, of Cheviot, said it seemed that Mr Hislop lost control of the crawler tractor while he was driving across a hill face about 10.30 a.m. The tractor turned uphill, rolled over, and dragged the chain harrows over Mr Hislop’s head. The tractor righted itself and went down the face to stop against a bank in a gully 100 yards away.
