FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anticyclone to the north-east of the country is moving away; a cold front in the Tasman Sea is advancing on to the South Island. Forecast: Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson.—Northwest winds, fresh or strong in places; some showers about the ranges, otherwise cloudy and warm. Buller and Westland. Fresh westerlies; cloudy and mild; some scattered showers. Outlook.—West Coast, a few showers; Canterbury, fair.
