Away From It All

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, Feb. 26.

A former Air Force Sunderland flying-boat will return to Auckland on Friday, with carpets instead of cannon and enough frills to make an Air Force pilot blush.

The flying-boat, which two years ago seemed grounded for life at Hobsouville, has been converted into a luxurious, two-deck flying ulcer cure for jaded businessmen.

It will carry 24 Sydney businessmen to the Bay of Islands for a week-end of big game Ashing. Part of the operation is stamped “top secret,” for the businessmen do not want their names known so that they can get right away from it all.

The former Sunderland has been converted to civil status at a cost of $160,000 and has even a sit-down cocktail bar. It is owned by Airlines of N.S.W.
