SERENA AT HER BEST

"The Press" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH.

Serena was brilliant tn her final trial for the Jackson Stakes yesterday. The pre-post favourite ran so impressively over half a mile on the course proper at Awapunl that it is hard to see her beaten in the feature race on the second day at Wanganui.

Serena galloped on the course proper, with Sacimo. They worked up speed quickly and ran the first furlong in 12 2-ssec. They completed the Journey in 48 4-ssec, the last three in 36 2-ssec.

Serena pulls hard once she gets her head in front in a gallop and she went faster as Sacimo weakened near the line. On this trial, Serena should have little trouble in winning the Jackson Stakes.

It was also a good effort on the part of Sacimo and points to a winning chance for him in the sprint at Hawera next Wednesday.
