The National Rifle Aaaoelation’s championships at Trentham later thia month have attracted a big number of international shooters.

The shoot will start on February 19 and end on February

Britain and Canada will both have strong teams and many Australians, including a Queensland police team, will compete. There will be no official Australian team.

Canada will be represented at the championships for the first time with an official team of 15, accompanied by 12 supporters among whom are six shooters, including two women, who will also enter the championships.

Britain, making its first visit since 1958, has a team of 20. Three of these, the team captain, R. Fulton, D. Cantlay, who will travel as a coach, and Wing Commander I. Westmacott, the team’s adjutant, were here 10 years ago. Two other Britons, not selected in the team, will also shoot at Trentham. Because there is no Australian team there will be no Empire international match, but New Zealand will have its first local triangular shoot in 10 years. A national team will be selected soon after the tournament starts to compete against Britain and Canada during the championships.

There will be 11 events for the Ballinger Beit, the premier trophy a‘ stake. Ten will be open to all competitors but only the top 50 will be eligible to shoot In the final event

Services and team shoots will be held and 12 secondary schools will contest the Masefield Challenge Shield.
