Gorton Rumour Denied

(N.Z. Press A«sn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, Feb. 8. Reports throughout Australia that the Prime Minister (Mr John Gorton) had suffered a heart attack were officially denied today.

Mr Gorton’s press secretary (Mr Tony Eggleton)- said: “The Prime Minister is fit and well and is surprised at the rumour.” The Prime Minister announced last week that he was “going into smoke” for a few days to recover from tiredness caused by events of recent weeks and to prepare for the coming session of Parliament.
