WAHAROA.

A 165-kilometre triangular course was the third day’s task at the sixth national gliding championships yesterday. It was completed by 11 of the 19 competitors in times ranging from 2hr 54.5 min to shr Smin.

R. Reid (Auckland), flying an open class machine, was once again the winner and retained his leading position. T. Fowke was three minutes further back, and gained top place in the standard class. Confirmed results at the end of the second day were: Reid, 1947; P. Heginbotham (Wellington), 1762: G. Hookings (Auckland). 1618; R. Carmichael (Piako), 1536; 1. Pryde (Auckland), 1452.
