Driving Binshaw
The Tinwald reinsman, D. J. Townley, has been engaged to drive the Western Australian pacer, Binshaw, in the Inter-Dominion Championship series, which will start at Auckland on Saturday. Binshaw is trained by P. Coulson, who was suspended after an inquiry into a race incident at Harold Park had been completed last Friday. Coulson was also under suspension when he brought Pacing Lawn to the 1965 Inter-Dominion Championships at Forbury Park.
On that occasion the Sydney trainer, P. J. Hall, drove for him. Binshaw won the Grand Final in Perth 12 months ago and paced an encouraging trial for this year's series when he finished second to First Lee in the Invitation Challenge Stakes at Harold Park last Friday night Coulson also has brought Blue Pennant from Western Australia. He won a heat at the 1967 series in Perth. He will be driven by the Perth trainer, L. Lindau.
