Mr B. Spiro, of Auckland, will leav« on September!! thisydar for the United States where he will act as flid international commentator for a series of floral demonstrations throughout Canada and the United States.
Mr spiro 1 * inritatioe is a result of the outstanding commentating he did at the World Interflora Floral Festival which was held In London’s Festival Hall last year. Thia ia th* first time an ever- , seat floral art commentator , has been invited to tour the l two countries. i He will probably be demonstrating floristry also during i hia visit and be is Scheduled : to appear on television in I several cities. i The demonstrations at- ■ ranged by th* Florists Trans • World Organisation and in- , terflora, Inc,, are extremely i popular with the public. A ' similar demonstration .last , year in Charlotte, North Caroi Una, attracted an audience Of i 40,000 for two days with six I commentators and 40 designers taking part. With the amount of pubi Hetty backing the demonetra- ■ tioc*, Mrßpiro sees this as a
great opportunity to put New Zealand on the‘floristry map.’ Mr Spiro is a past president of the Interflora Pacific Unit and at present serves on th* controlling council: he hM had the responsibility Of creating the floral appointment* for Royal visits by the Queen when she visited New Zealand.
