Critical Of France
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyrlght) LIEGE, (Belgium), Jan. 26. The Dutch Foreign Minister, Dr Joseph Luns, criticised France yesterday and said her lack of understanding threatened to bog down the Common Market. Dr Luns, speaking on “prospects for Europe” at the invitation of the “Soclete d'Etudes et d’Expansion'’ at Liege, said that after 11 years of the Common Market there was in it a total disagreement on the basis and future of the Community. He said that disagreement within the Community on the question of the entry of Britain, Denmark, Norway and Ireland arose principally from political considerations. He said: "... Europe cannot allow itself the luxury of new divisions undermining and enfeebling it at a moment when super-powers have emerged like United States and Russia, and as perhaps, China may emerge tomorrow."
