FINE DEBUT BY NEW CATAMARAN

The highlight of the weekend s racing was the fine debut by C. Papps in his new Siouxclass catamaran Swish. He was going so well yesterday afternoon at the Christchurch low tide racing that he almost lapped the Javelin and R class. Prominent in this race, sailed in perfect conditions, was the R-class Naiad, which well and truly beat one of the top Javelins, Giavelina. Slight confusion was caused at Lyttelton on Saturday afternoon in light conditions when the marker buoys were laid in different positions to those shown on the course charts.
