Sydney race-goers on Saturday saw the spectacle for which they had been waiting for weeks—the 15-year-old Gary Moore beating his famous father, George Moore (above) in a finish. Although the pair had met many times, they had not fought out a finish together until the Ryde Handicap at Rosehill on Saturday. Handling the joint favourite. Birthright, with the skill and confidence of a veteran, Gary Moore booted his mount home a length and a quarter in front of his father’s mount, Victory Roll.
