Next Please Is Kumara Pick
Ibn will not run in the Flying Handicap, the second leg of the Kumara Racing Club’s T.A.B. double today, but his Riccarton stablemate, General Gilbert, has been taken to the West Coast for the Kumara Handicap, a race he has already won twice.
General Gilbert could be one of the best of Next Please’s rivals in the Kumara club’s feature race and first leg of the T.A.B. double. Count Down, which won at Reefton, also commands some respect, but Next Please would have to show a sharp decline in form or have the luck of the running against him to fail to measure up here. Next Please will represent Riccarton in the Wellington Cup next week. Kumara had fine, warm weather yesterday and a firm track seems likely.
