FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —An anticyclone extends eastwards from the North Island and a cold front is advancing over the South Island. Forecast: Canterbury and Kaikoura Coast.—Moderate south-west winds prevailing, especially in coastal districts; rain in the Alps clearing later in the day; elsewhere cloudy at times; moderate temperatures. Marlborough except the Kaikoura Coast.— i North or north-west winds strong at first in exposed I places; weather fine with high temperatures; wind moderating during the day. Nelson.—Fresh south-west winds decreasing and becoming moderate and variable; weather fine but cloud increasing; still warm. Buller and Westland.—Moderate west or southwest winds; rain clearing and becoming cooler. Outlook.—All districts: Cooler. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
