COUNCIL LOANS
One Already Filled Pleasure at the response to two Christchurch City Council loan issues was expressed yesterday by the deputy City Treasurer (Mr B. H Williams). He said that a $75,000 issue of a 3590,000 street improvement loan, which went on sale on December 1, had been filled.
The 1967 electricity extension loan, of $670,000, which went on sale on December 15, had already attracted sales of $398,760, said Mr Williams. The short-term issues of this loan, bearing 5 1-8 per cent interest, had proved popular, and four of the groups had been filled
“While it may be a struggle to raise the balance of 8271.240 by the end of March, we have many loyal and regular investors who may help us to fill it,” said Mr Wi> liams.
