Wastes In Atlantic

Eleven thousand tons of solid radioactive waste was dumped into the eastern Atlantic last summer, the European Nuclear Energy Agency announced yesterday. Solid wastes from nuclear centres in five European countries—Britain, France, West Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands —were put in 'containers and discharged at a depth of 16,400 feet, the [agency's annual report said, j After thorough studies over [several years it had been concluded that this would “represent no risk either to man 'or marine organisms,” it said.
