New Record Equalled
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI. R. Thomas equalled his New Zealand long jump record of 25ft 9)in, which is still awaiting ratification, when he competed at Whangarel on Saturday. The New Zealand titleholder in the event. D. Norris, bettered Thomas’s figure with a leap of 25ft Hiin at Auckland but his effort was substantially assisted by the wind and will not be recognised as a record.
