GREYMOUTH, Dec. 8. The directors of the quicklyexpanding Westland Dairy Company have $50,000 worth of reasons to thank their secretary (Mr G. T. Bloomfield). Several months ago, with his eye on wool prices, he forecast devaluation and saved this amount on a $170,000 overseas deal.

The company is concerned with a $700,000 expansion programme to produce spray skim milk powder, and six months ago it ordered plant and machinery from Denmark, Mr Bloomfield advising his directors to buy forward exchange. They agreed.
