Trimaran Tactile Has Two Wins
Tactile, the big new 46-foot trimaran, owned and raced by C. A. and N. H. Jones, won both the A class races organised by the Banks Peninsula Cruising Club over the weekend.
The fleet of keelers left Lyttelton with a southerly behind them on Saturday but this soon veered to the south-west making the beat to Little Akaloa a long, cold, and exhausting one. Heavy rain made con ditions even more unpleasant After a cold night at anchor they made a quicker run back on Sunday tor the second leg. The B class race was won by Fantasy Two (T. M. Rolton) on the way out and Wanda (T. A. Turner) on the way back.
