Bloodstock Sales

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) NEWMARKET. Tattersail’s Bloodstock Sales ended on Saturday after six days of almost non-stop bidding during which 912 horses were sold for 1,899,795gn5. The foot-and-mouth epidemic reduced the number of horses put up for sale but the average price of 2083gns was well up on last year’s figure of 1661gns. The British record of 136,000gns paid for Vaguely Noble, a two-year-old colt, by a Californian on Thursday was the highlight of the sales, which brought valuable currency into Britain.
