Argentina Wins At Rosehill
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) SYDNEY. The Sydney trainer, T. J. Smith, is now more determined than ever to run his stayer, Argentina, in the Wellington Cup in January:. This determination was heightened after the five-year-old New Zealand-bred gelding won the Rosehill Handicap, a mile and a half, in style on Saturday. Argentina, the favourite, went to the front soon after the home turn and won by a length and a half from Duo, with the New Zealand-bred Able Sal a length and a quarter away third. Argentina, against a head wind in the straight where he ran a little erratically, ran the distance in 2:29j. This was only 3-ssec outside the race record set by his stablemate, Del Charro, last May.
