Mercy Dash By Ship

NAPIER, Dec. 10.
A 600-mile mercy dash by the British freighter Taupo ended on Saturday night when an injured seaman was taken off the ship and admitted to Napier Public Hospital. The man, Emmanuel Clark, aged about 30, suffered fractured ribs and a punctured lung when flung against a stanchion during rough weather on Friday. His condition today was reported as satisfactory. The Taupo was en route from Nelson to London.
