Speedboat Records

(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. Two New Zealand speedboat records were broken on Saturday at Lake Rotoiti, 60 miles from Nelson. They were the Auto Union unlimited racing runabout and the unlimited runabout records. The previous records were set by G. Taylor (Waikato) with a speed of 86.95 m.p.h. In ideal weather and water conditions, Nelson’s D. Cameron in Miss Print 111, powered by a Chevrolet 396 cubic inch motor, took the record for both classes to 88.76 m.p.h.
