TV Tapes Of Space Flight

(N.Z. P.A. -Reuter)

CAMDEN (New Jersey). A television tape recorder which can record quality pictures on future Americanmanned space flights has been developed by the Radio Corporation of America. The entire 301 b package is smaller than a standard office typewriter. It can record a half-hour show on one reel of one-inch wide tape, and can play the recording back at eight times the recording speed, for rapid broadcast to earth. The corporation also anticipates applications in military reconnaissance aircraft and, eventually, in commercial aircraft, where it might serve as a visual, crash-survivable, flight events recorder.
