Thomson To Sell Paper

Thomson Newspapers has agreed to sell one of its newspapers to avoid s an anti-trust action, the United States Justice Department announced yesterday. It said Thomson Newspapers and the department filed a consent judgment in the United States District Court in Cleveland in which the company agreed to sell the Alliance, Ohio, “Review.” On Monday, Thomson Newspapers will complete its acquisition of Brush - Moore newspapers, which owns 13 dailies and eight Sunday papers in the United States, including the Canton "Repository,” which is in the same county as the Alliance “Review.”
