Unemployed “Selective”
(N.Z. Prase Assoetation)
WHANGAREI, Dec. 7. There were grounds for suggesting that some unemployed . were being selective when . offered work, the Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon) said in Whangarei tonight. He had been asked in an interview if the Government had any intention of providing funds for extra work as workers came off relief work . projects. Mr Muldoon replied that ’ some time ago a Kaitaia farmer had wanted two single • men to help on his farm, but' the Labour Department had been unable to find two men willing to work there.
“If you can’t get two single men to go to a farm in Ka£taia it suggests they being pretty selective,” Itosaid. >
