Orphanages Invited
Children from orphanages and children’s homes throughout Christchurch will be the guests of the New Zealand Magic Circle at a free performance in the Civic Theatre this afternoon. Persons from homes for the elderly have also been invited. The Magic Circle, which has been in existence for 12 years and has 28 members, first held the free performance about three years ago, and it was such a success that it has become an annual event The theatre is made available by the Christchurch City Council. Today’s performance will include exhibitions of fire-eating, knife-throwing, and manipulation. Some musicians will also give items. Fourteen members of the circle, all practised magicians and all from Christchurch, will perform. The circle has said that children or elderly persons from any institutions that did not receive invitations, are also welcome to attend.
