Very heavy supplies of cucumbers were available at Christchurch produce markets yesterday. Cartons of cucumbers sold from 55c to 11. M each arid Nelson and North Island grown shipments from 80c to Among other salad intredients at the markets werl supplies of North Island grows prepacked celery at prices to 14.20 a case and tomatoes at 5c to 20c a pound. Best lettuces sold to $l4O a case. Nelson supplies of g’-een {ieas sold to 53.20 a bag And ocal supplies to 53.70 a *->se. Potatoes from Nelson and liraaru were sold. Nelson supples at from Sl-80 to S2 a bag end those from Oamaru at SI.SC a bag. Pumpkins.—Sil a sack. Cabbages.—2oc to Csc a case. Carrots.—Oamaru: 51.50 to 52.50 a case. Cauliflowers.—soc to 51.40 a case. Onions.—To S2 a sugar bag. Spring Onions,—To 90c a dozen bunches. Radishes.—2oc to 40c a dozen bunches. Leeks.—To 20c a case. Stringless Beans.—To 52.50 a case. Spinach.—To 51.50 a case. Rhubarb.—Sl.3o to SI.SO a cise. Peaches.—To 51.65 a tray. Grapefruit.—To 55.45 a case.
