Foxvale Wins Well In Cup

“The Prut" Special Service AUCKLAND. Fexvale fulfilled the high C remise lie has shewn since is early three-year-eld days when he scared handsemety in the South Auckland Cup at Pwkekabe en Saturday. What is more, he pulled up without a trace of the soreness which troubled him for a time last week. It remains only for Foxvale to get through the next few weeks in his present excellent shape and he will be certain of a big following for the Auckland Cup. He won so well and in such good time that there seems hardly a doubt he will stay the two miles of the cup. Allowed a beautiful position on the heels of the pacemaker. Arnie, Foxvale ran like a winner all the way. His rider, G. L. Willetts, cleared the inside in plenty of time to make his challenge and he raced in front over the last furlong and a half. Foxvale was to have been ridden by D. A. Peake, who had the bad iuck to miss the engagement because of an accident ’‘when riding at Takanini on Thursday. Willets took the mount at 31b over-weight, making 7-7. But now that Foxvale has more his weight, R. J. Skelton is to be the rider. Foxvale is not likely to be tried again as a stayer until the Auckland summer meeting. Geyser Land, again an eachway favourite, ran his worst race of the season to beat only a few home. Miss Lynette continued her fine run of form by beating a

smart field in the Paerata Two Thousand.

She made all the pace with Irish Hover and cleared away In the straight, docking Imin U 3-ssec tor the six furlongs. It was her third win in tour starts this season.

Blue Baron and Classical Glow were the next best after Miss Lynette, then Unpainted, which suffered by losing ground in the rush over the arst two or three furlongs. Valiant Bebel, from which also much was expected, showed up wide on the home turn but gave ground quickly in the run home. Beaulti:— SFRIHC STAKBS 31060; u. First Division t/S FABLUCUX (9), 3-6 G. B.
