General Gilbert, runner-up tn the Greymouth Cup, will prob- ! ably be favourite. His strongest : rivals are likely, to be Count ( Down, Norma's Lass, which did ( not -race bn Saturday, and Alle- < gretto. < Totara Lad, Pango and Azir, ! the place-getters in the open ’ sprint on Saturday, should again battle it out in the second leg, the Stewards* Handicap.
