First Joint Wedding
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright] LONDON, Nov. 29. A Roman Catholic priest and a Church of England canon are to take part in what is believed to be the first joint marriage service in Britain at Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, Oxford, on Saturday.
The marriage will be that of Miss Priscilla Fogarty, aged 24, daughter of Professor Michael Fogarty, the sociologist and economist, and Mr Matthew Stallard, aged 26, son of Canon Federick Stallard, of AU Saints’ Church Peterborough. The bride is Roman Catholic and the bridegroom is Anglican.
