Boy Acrobat Injured

A boy acrobat overbalanced while on the top of a 25ft pole and fell to the ground at Bishopdale about 7.45 last night. The boy, Zane Bruce Solar, aged 10, was balancing on top of a 25ft pole held by his father. As he overbalanced the pole swung in an arc toward the ground. The >oy rode the pole down till its top was close to the ground, and then jumped. He was taken to Christchurch Hospital, where he was treated and discharged.

About 200 people watched the incident.
