THEATRE PLANS

Studio Theatre, a company to bring theatre to Nelson and Marlborough, is being formed in Blenheim.

“The company is starting with specialised artists and will be expanding to include some of the local actors, after a suitable period,” said a spokesman for the company, Miss Anne Anderson, this week. “A training course will also be run for amateurs." Foundation members of the youthful company include four members from Blenheim itself, Lauree Fowler (ballet and movement), Sandra MacCauley (mime), Sandra Whitehead (wardrobe), and Ross Dalton (designer). The two other members are from Christchurch, Sandy McCutcheon (artistic director) and Miss Anderson (sec-retory-manager and speech). The company will include in its first season two plays by the Christchurch playwright, Max B. Richards.
