ALL BLACK SOUVENIRS

Rugby Union To Act If the foot-and-mouth quarantine regulations prevented the All Blacks bringing back to New Zealand souvenirs in the form of boots and jerseys, the New Zealand Rugby Union would issue the players with a new set of gear, said the chairman of the Rugby Union council, Mr T. C. Morrison, yesterday. “We have asked the All Blacks manager (Mr C. K. Saxton) to investigate the possibility of having swapped international jerseys fumigated or even left in a form of bond in Britain so that players could at some later time get back their tour souvenirs,” he said. “If that is not possible, then at least the players will be given new All Black jerseys when they return so that they may arrange some possible swaps with their British Isles counterpats when the epidemic has been controlled in Britain.”
