Ghandi Not Starting
“The Press** Special Service INVERCARGILL. The two-year-old, Ghandi, which has not been beaten at Southland trials in recent weeks, will not contest the New Zealand Golden Slipper Stakes at Waimate on Saturday week. Ghandi had been entered for the Waimate classic, but the payments were overlooked by Mr C. H. Baynes, the owner and breeder of the Young Charles gelding. A member of C. T. Woodward’s Edendale team, Ghandi is a smart youngster and will probably play a leading part in the later classics.
