RESIDENT QUARTET
I Financial assistance tn ob[tain a resident quartet is offered to the University of Canterbury by the Christchurch Civic Music Council in the report of the chairman (Mr G. A. G. Connal), which will be presented at the annual meeting of the council □n Friday. The quartet is intended to replace the Prague Quartet which held many recitals in Christchurch last year. “The presence of such a quartet gives incalculable benefits to our young musicians and it is hoped that the university will soon be in a position to complete its negotiations for a resident quartet for 1968,” Mr Connal said.
