‘War Tax’ Withheld

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Nov. 17. A Melbourne folk-singer told the City Court today she refused to pay 6 per cent of her income tax for 1966 because she disapproved of Australia's defence policy.

Miss Anne Tomasetti was charged with having failed to pay income tax for that year.

Air Exercise.—More than 1000 members of the Australian, British and New Zealand Air Forces will move to the Northern Territory of Australia for an exercise which will begin tomorrow.— Canberra, November 17.
