DISCOVERY OF BONES
Find Near Peking ffi.Z. Prett Attn. —Copyright) HONG KONG, Nov. 16. China yesterday reported the recent discovery of bones of a new “Peking man”—a species of primitive man who lived about 500,000 years ago. The discovery was reported by the official New China News Agency. The report said the new “Peking man” was found at Chou Koutien, the site of the original discovery of bones of the Peking man in 1927 and 1929, about 30 miles southwest of Peking. The latest find included a frontal skull bone and an occipital bone, major finds in the long search for the missing link between man and the ape he is believed to have sprung from, it said.
