Later Hours For Banks

fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 16. Trading banks may be able to stay open later once their computers have speeded up the traditional banking practices. The Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon) told Parliament today that no legislation was planned to permit later hours for banks, and the banks had not sought such legislation. “However, it may be that the banks will find some pracj tices can be done more efficiently," he said in reply to a question from Mr R. J‘ Tizard (Lab., Pakuranga). “The outcome of the intro-f duction of computers operations is being watched with great interest, and it may id due course be possible for legislation to be altered to allow for later hours."
