As light rain fell, the Mayor of Christchurch (Sir George Manning) yesterday unveiled a bronze plaque to mark the site of the first parade of E Battery, Christchurch Artillery Volunteers, in December, 1867. The ceremony took place outside the Army Area Headquarters building in Cashel Street.
