South Africa won both reverse singles matches and ended on a high note when R. Maud overwhelmed J. Mukerjea, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3. Maud substituted for the injured R. Hewitt. C. Drysdale beat R. Krishnan 7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the finest exhibition of tennis seen during the tie.
