Second Major Operation

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. A Maori woman who, at the age of nine, was one of the first three blue babies to be loperated on in New Zealand, underwent a further heart operation this week—lB years later. She is Mrs Dawn Herewini. the wife of Mr D. Herewini, of Glen Innes, a cousin of the All Black, M. A. Herewini. Her first operation was done by Sir Douglas Robb in Green Lane Hospital when New Zealand was pioneering new heart surgery techniques. It was known technically as a Blalock operation for cyanotic heart disease. Her latest surgery, on Monday, was done by Mr Brian Barratt-Boyes in Green Lane Hospital.
