Viking Water Amiss
I Viking Water has broken ■ down and will not race again at the cup meeting. The trouble is in a suspensory liga- ■ ment, according to his j trainer, P. T. Wolfenden.
Viking Water will be returned north as soon as transport is available. Wolfenden thinks a long spell will be necessary before Viking Water can race again. Viking Water is the second ■ northern casualty from yesterday’s New Zealand Cup. Tobias, too, broke down and his future is considered to be in doubt. Radiation Is a doubtful starter in the First Improvers' Handicap today. Miles Gentry will race at the two night meetings. He had a hard race on Tuesday and it was decided to let him miss the second day of the meeting.
