Peko-W. Holds Nearly 25% Of Mt Morgan

SYDNEY, November 8.
Peko-Wallsend Investments, Ltd, is already holding acceptances which represent close to 25 per cent of Mount Morgan, Ltd’s, ordinary capital. Revealing this, Peko’s chairman (Mr J. Proud) said the acceptances were still flowing in at a steady daily rate.
It is two weeks since Peko sent its formal offer documents to Mount Morgan shareholders.

The competing offer from Power Mining Ltd, was to be posted last week-end. Peko confirmed that it would declare its offer unconditional “at an acceptance fig ure of substantially less than 90 per cent.” It indicates that Peko may settle for 51 per cent control of Mount Morgan.
