A tired Australian team held on to beat South Vietnam. 1-0 and virtually clinched first place in Section A of the tournament on Tues-| day. A goal after 35 minutes byl J. Warren proved decisive. In the first half, the bigger and stronger Australians were in command. But after the interval the speedier Vietnamese ran them off their feet. Only South Vietnam's lack of an effective goal striker plus grim Australian defence, led by the centre-half R. van Alphen. kept them at bay. In Section B.
