Hire Purchase
Sir, —While the Government is frowning on our efforts to overcome the high cost of Jiving and provide the necessities of reasonable living by hire purchase, it sets a fine example by landing us with foreign loans, and a $l9 million debt for a frigate to be paid over 11 years. Items we acquire on hire purchase will improve our lives and only we who benefit from them will pay for them, but our descendants will be saddled with the payment of these loans.—Yours, etc., F. R. FRYER. November 7, 1967.
