CUP DAY BETTING
Generous support bv North Island owners helped the Canterbury Jockey Club to come through its cup dav programme on Saturday'with a creditable financial result at a time of falling turnovers. The combined off and oncourse turnover of $687,941.50 was $50,931 below last year’s, but to balance that the club's share of the twocups double was $61,208. On-course betting dropped by only $4389. Doubles betting accounted for $262,942.50 off and oncourse.
