AUCKLAND, Oct. 27.

The Railways Department expects to be faced soon with a fairly substantial claim. A waggonload of bulldozer parts sent by the Forest Service to Otahuhu for repairs was mixed with waggons of scrap metal and some of the parts were cut up for scrap.

The mistake, said a department officer, was made by a railways employee who had not heeded instructions to check all waggons carefully. The employee had not been sacked but the department had taken adequate action. _
